Marvel is a company founded on a simple principle, we try to do everything we can to make the lives of people who use wheelchairs as locomotion better. We do it in a bunch of different ways, by building lighter, better wheelchairs, by delivering wheelchairs on time and in a reasonable amount of time and by using the most advanced technology and processes in both design and manufacturing to do that. Most of all though, before we actually do anything, we start by listening to and acting on the advice of the people who prescribe wheelchairs, the people who repair wheelchairs, the people who sell wheelchairs, and of paramount importance, the people who use wheelchairs.
We believe that we’re all in this together, and that mobility products should bring people together, not push them apart. We took a look at the industry, and saw a lot of the same thing out there, single walled tubular construction using essentially the identical design that’s been out there for 15 years, so we canvassed other markets with similar performance needs, and saw amazing technology that far surpasses the current standard in wheelchairs that we could import into the design of our products. We looked at the relationships between prescribers, dealers and users, and saw a lot of unnecessary stress, so we designed with the idea of making the fitting easy, the delivery quick, and the performance second to none.
We looked long and hard at the wheelchairs our friends and others use that often don’t fit and under-perform, and we decided to try to make things better. We’re new on the block, but we’re here to stay. With the help of Cervélo cycles, we’ve come up with what we think is a revolution in technology for people who use wheelchairs.
